The local church called First African Methodist Episcopal Church is the physical expression of Jesus Christ. We have been called together as a believing community to represent Christ to the world during our lifetime. This means that we should take seriously our responsibility to embody Him individually as Christians and collectively as a church. Therefore, we should be “Loving Like Christ, Living Like Christ, Leading Like Christ.” As individual followers of Christ and as a covenant community of faith, our lifestyles, character, and service to God should reflect our growing love for Him and knowledge of Him.

 

“Loving Like Christ”

deals with how we engage our members, community and the body of Christ at large.

“Living Like Christ”

deals with our need to live out what we believe and speak.

“Leading Like Christ”

deals with our need to stay active and engaged in community by responding to human and social justice needs through activism.
